Dear Younger Me,
First, take a deep breath. I know you feel like you have to have it all figured out right now, but you don’t. And that’s okay. Life isn’t a straight line, and the detours, heartbreaks, and unexpected twists? They all serve a purpose.
You’re going to spend a lot of time overthinking, doubting yourself, and wondering if you’re enough. Let me save you some time: You are. You always have been. The world will try to make you feel small, but don’t shrink yourself to fit into spaces that don’t appreciate your light. The right people, the right opportunities, and the right moments will recognize your worth.
I know you feel like you have to be strong all the time, but strength isn’t about pretending you’re okay. It’s about being honest when you’re not. Vulnerability isn’t weakness; it’s power. Speak your truth, even when your voice shakes.
There will be days when you feel lost, like you’re standing at a crossroads with no map. Trust yourself. You won’t always make the “perfect” choice, but you will make the right one for the person you’re becoming. Every experience good or bad will shape you in ways you can’t even imagine yet.
Stop holding yourself to impossible standards. You don’t have to be everything for everyone. Protect your energy, set boundaries, and don’t apologize for prioritizing yourself. Not everyone will understand your journey, and that’s fine it’s not theirs to understand.
Most importantly, enjoy the little moments. The deep belly laughs, the quiet mornings, the music that makes you feel something, the friendships that remind you you’re not alone. Those are the things that will carry you through.
You’re going to be okay actually, better than okay. You’re going to be you, fully and unapologetically. And that’s more than enough.
Sincerely ,
Me
