Do you spend more time thinking about the future or the past? Why?
For a long time, I found myself bouncing between both. Some days, I’d overthink the past what I should have said, what I could have done differently. Other days, I’d stress about the future where I was going, if I was making the right choices, if I’d ever truly have it all figured out. But in all of that thinking, I realized something: I was barely living.
The past can teach us, but it shouldn’t trap us. The future can inspire us, but it shouldn’t consume us. Life is happening right now in this moment. And if we spend too much time in the past or the future, we miss the beauty of what’s in front of us.
Living in the present means embracing where you are, appreciating what you have, and surrounding yourself with people who support your growth. The right people won’t keep you stuck in old versions of yourself. They’ll challenge you, inspire you, and walk with you as you evolve.
So, I’m learning to find balance to honor where I’ve been, to have faith in where I’m going, but most importantly, to be present where I am. Because the only moment we truly have is this one, and I want to make it count with the right mindset and the right people by my side.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” – Matthew 6:34
