Things are still coming to light.
Let’s be honest.
Does the opinion matter
when the decision is already made?
Because lately, it feels like opinions are requested
only when they don’t challenge anything.
You’re asked what you think
after the conclusion is reached.
After the direction is set.
After the choice is locked in.
And if your perspective doesn’t align,
it’s labeled emotional.
Too personal.
Too invested.
This is where i learned helplessness quietly sets in.
You speak. You care. You give insight.
And nothing changes.
Over time, you start to wonder why bother?
So what’s really being asked in those moments?
Input or agreement?
Because there’s a difference between being included
and being consulted for confirmation.
Silence starts to make sense then.
Not because there’s nothing to say
but because clarity has already been ignored.
There’s something unsettling about being invited into a conversation
where disagreement was never an option.
Where optimism is expected,
but honesty feels inconvenient.
So I’m left with the question I can’t shake
If the decision is already made,
what is my opinion actually for?
Validation?
Compliance?
Or just permission to move forward without resistance?
I don’t have a neat ending for this.
Just a growing awareness
that being asked to speak
doesn’t always mean being heard…
